Myotherapy

Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of soft tissue pain such as; muscle, tendons, ligaments, fascia,
injury and/or dysfunction.

Our myotherapists use a range of techniques for treatment in restoring and maintaining the health of important soft tissue structures.

Common conditions we treat:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain- acute and chronic
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle tightness and fatigue and spasm
  • Sporting and occupational injuries
  • Poor posture
  • Shoulder pain and impingement
  • Pregnancy
  • RSI
  • Stress related symptoms
  • Knee, leg and foot pain
  • Joint pain
  • Restricted movement
  • Jaw and face

Trigger points within the muscle or fascia, which is described as muscle fiscal pain, are the leading causes of body pain. This happens as a result of overuse or direct trauma to the muscle leading to the development of muscular malfunction.

Modalities/techniques:

  • Remedial Massage
  • Dry needling
  • Muscle fescial cupping
  • Corrective exercises and stretches
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Nerve stimulation (TENS)
  • Sport/physio therapy

Trigger points may develop during sporting, occupational and/or any other physical activities, when muscle exceeds its physical capacity and the natural recovery process is disturbed.
